The United States has condemned the latest wave of attacks in Judea and Samaria.
“In the past week #Palestinian terrorists have killed or wounded 14 #Israelis in multiple attacks,” tweeted U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman. “The Pal Authority maintains laws that will compensate these terrorists and their families for their heinous acts. The attacks started on Sunday night when seven people, including a couple expecting a baby, were injured in a Palestinian shooting attack at a bus stop outside of the town of Ofra. The baby boy was delivered by emergency Caesarean section at just 30 weeks, but died on Wednesday after doctors at Shaare Zedek Medical Center attempted to save his life.
His parents are recovering, as are the other five injured wounded in the attack.
“Absolutely heart-breaking—my thoughts & prayers are with the family of the baby who died today as a result of the despicable terror attack on Sunday,” tweeted Jason Greenblatt, Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs. “This is an attack Hamas praised as ‘heroic.’ ”
In light of the latest attacks, Greenblatt also called out U.N. member states that voted against or abstained from a U.N. General Assembly resolution last week that required a two-thirds majority to pass condemning Hamas. The final tally was 87 in favor, 57 against, 33 abstentions.

Other Palestinian attacks this week have included two Israeli soldiers murdered and two badly injured after being shot by a terrorist on Thursday at the Givat Asaf Junction, between Beit El and Ofra near the northern entrance to the Palestinian town of Ramallah. The two were laid to rest on Friday.
On Friday morning, a Palestinian infiltrated an Israel Defense Forces’ post outside the town of Beit El in southern Samaria, striking the head of an Israeli soldier with a rock, seriously injuring him before fleeing.
There is currently a manhunt for the suspect, as well as for several Palestinians from the attacks of the previous week.
