Inside the remarkable revival of the Mount of Olives

Steve Linde is the JNS features editor and former editor-in-chief of The Jerusalem Post. Born in Zimbabwe and raised in South Africa, he made aliyah in 1988 and served in the IDF. Steve Linde, the JNS features editor, is a former editor-in-chief of The Jerusalem Post and The Jerusalem Report and a former head of Kol Yisrael English News. Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, he grew up in Durban, South Africa, and has degrees in sociology and journalism. He made aliyah in 1988, served in IDF Artillery and lives in Jerusalem.
The bureau’s data suggested that a Jewish person was nearly 225% more likely to be a target of a hate crime than a black person was in the United States last year.
“There is democracy within Likud,” Israeli Transportation and Road Safety Minister Miri Regev told JNS.
“Our rabbis reignited the candles, helped us breathe and found the words to respond to the moment in real time,” the Reform synagogue stated. “Our congregation refused to let hate extinguish our Shabbat light.”
No injuries were reported. Separately, Israeli soldiers shot dead two terrorists who posed a threat.
