The State Department’s continuous insistence on a Palestinian state

Endowment for Middle East Truth (EMET) Webinar

Even as Israel’s fighting against Iranian terror proxies Hamas to the south and Hezbollah to the north continues, the U.S. State Department is busy submitting plans for a Palestinian state to be erected post-conflict. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan has outlined a contiguous Palestinian state stretching from Gaza through Judea and Samaria (more commonly known as the West Bank). He has also spoken about a “revamped and revised” Palestinian Authority.

What guarantees are in place so this state wouldn’t become a proxy of Iran? And assuming the Palestinian Authority were to be “revamped and revised,” what guarantee is there that power would not change hands, and this entity would not become another jihadist state in the middle of Israel? How could the Jewish state defend its borders ... or even survive, for that matter? Can the State Department even do this without the consent of the Israeli government and the Israeli public?

Here to answer these questions and more is American foreign-policy expert David Wurmser.
