US appeasement of Iran led to the mass slaughter of Jews

Has American foreign policy led to the emboldening of terrorists? Will Hezbollah open up a second front in the war against Israel? “Top Story” with Jonathan Tobin and guest Tony Badran, Ep. 113.

On this week’s episode of “Top Story,” JNS editor-in-chief Jonathan Tobin stated that “What happened in Israel on Oct. 7 was not an aberration or merely the work of Palestinian Arab extremists. It was the logical consequence of a century of rhetoric and policy on the part of those who believe the Jewish presence in Israel must be eliminated.”

He pointed out that “in the worldview of the Palestinian Arabs, even one small Jewish state on the planet is one too many, and there is no limit to the amount of Jewish blood that they are prepared to spill in order to wipe it out. And that is why they carried out the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust.”

But, he added, “The Western mind, and especially enlightened liberal Jewish opinion, recoils against such a conclusion.”

Tobin was then joined by the Foundation for Defense of Democracy’s Tony Badran, who pointed out that Iran had helped coordinate the brutal attack on Israel as well as reinforced the Hezbollah threat to Israel’s northern border with Lebanon.

Badran views Iran’s adventurism after four years of relative quiet under former President Donald Trump as a consequence of the Biden administration’s efforts towards appeasement and to convince Israel that the country wasn’t a real threat. The recent $6 billion in ransom pledged to Iran is part of a process that began with the policies of former President Barack Obama, “the end result of which is the mass slaughter of Jews.”

Speaking of the revelations about the way Biden’s special envoy Robert Malley had facilitated the penetration of the U.S. government by an Iranian influence operation, Badran put the onus for this problem on the man whose vision about a rapprochement with Iran Malley was tasked with carrying out: Barack Obama. “The Iran lobby is Barack Obama. Barack Obama instituted this policy. Barack Obama turned the American ship of state in that direction. This is Barack Obama’s legacy. This is Barack Obama’s policy. It’s Barack Obama’s vision.”
