In an interview with JNS, Michal Herzog stresses the importance of Jewish unity and discusses her efforts to heal society after the Hamas-led massacre in southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023.
The report came as Israel marked 500 days since the Hamas massacre.
Israel’s first lady demands the release of the 120 hostages still being held by Hamas in Gaza, especially the women and girls who have suffered abuse.
“It is not that condemnations of gender-based violence by Hamas have been weak or insufficient—there have been none at all,” Israel’s first lady wrote.
“We have not had any contact with him for some time, but we have hope,” Michal Herzog said.
“Israel places great importance on continuing to enhance and deepen our bilateral relations with Latvia as well as all three Baltic states,” says the Israeli president.
Participant Kim Scop from South Africa, who hadn’t seen her son for four months, said “all of us understand that every day is a worry.”
“It is true, and we’ve discussed this, that the arts bring us together,” said U.S. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. “To the beautiful friendship between our countries.”
“I believe that our bold new partnership will transform the Middle East and inspire the whole region,” said Israeli President Isaac Herzog.
