Canadian Hadassah-WIZO received a $6.5 million endowment from Marla and Aubrey Dan, the largest endowment fund gift in the organization’s 100-year history.

The donation will be used to launch the DAN Department of Creative Human Design at Hadassah Academic College in Jerusalem, as well as the Marla Dan Interventional Radiology Institute at the Yitzhak Shamir Medical Center (formerly Assaf Harofeh Medical Center) in Be’er Ya’akov, Israel, and also to assist the college’s strategic needs.

“HAC is honored and deeply grateful for the decision of Aubrey and Marla Dan of Toronto to create an endowment at Canadian Hadassah-WIZO that will significantly boost the activities and international standing of our college’s academic program in industrial design,” says Professor Bertold Fridlender, president of Hadassah Academic College.

“Thanks to the vision and strong partnership of the Dan family,” he continued, “the DAN Department of Creative Human Design is expected to greatly advance our college’s ability to attract outstanding students; pursue original research; upgrade the department’s infrastructure; and forge relationships with leading academic centers overseas.”
