According to Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Maj. Gen. Hossein Salami, American offers of help in combating the coronavirus pandemic are “demagoguery,” with the United States not even being able to protect its own citizens from the outbreak.
In a video that aired on Iran’s Channel 2 on Thursday, Salami said “the claim by the Americans that they would help the Iranians is nothing but demagoguery and a lie. The Americans themselves are busy dealing with the virus outbreak, and all their capabilities, facilities and infrastructure cannot protect the American public from this phenomenon.”
The IRGC commander went on to say that “as far as I am concerned, if the American people need help, we can help them, but we do not need their assistance.”
