Orthodox Union

Founded in 1898, the Orthodox Union (OU), or Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, serves as the voice of American Orthodox Jewry, with over 400 congregations in its synagogue network. As the umbrella organization for American Orthodox Jewry, the OU is at the forefront of advocacy work on both state and federal levels, outreach to Jewish teens and young professionals through NCSY, Israel Free Spirit Birthright, Yachad and OU Press, among many other divisions and programs.
“I am very grateful to be included in this important group advising Secretary Mayorkas on these critical issues,” said Hauer. “The Orthodox Union advocates and works for the security of Jewish and other faith-based communities on a daily basis, and this opportunity greatly amplifies our ability to do so. As a member of the council, I look forward to making our country a safer place for people of all religions.”
Providing support for women to deal with difficult scenarios is part of the OU Women’s Initiative’s mission, ever since it was launched by the Orthodox Union in 2017.

“Meeting and greeting the people at our first-ever international All Daf siyumim, who shared their affinity toward our platforms and how it’s changed their lives, was an incredible chizuk for our whole team” said All Daf Director Rabbi Moshe Schwed. “Both our events in London and Manchester were beautiful, inspiring and uplifting – beyond my expectations.”
Recipients include organizations that support community health, personal growth and education.
“For the first time in our 120-year history, the North American religious Zionist organizations are operating as one collective voice, allowing us to create the roadmap that will guide the next generation of Jewish leaders,” said RZA Executive Vice President Rabbi Ari Rockoff.
