KKL-JNF to participate in world’s largest climate conference in Azerbaijan

Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael-Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF), a leading player in global environmental and climate action, is again participating this year in the world’s largest climate conference, set to take place in Azerbaijan.

Since 2007, KKL-JNF has actively engaged in the U.N. climate conferences, and in 2009, observer status accreditation was granted.

The 29th International Climate Conference (COP29) taking place this month presents KKL-JNF with a key opportunity to showcase its innovative environmental initiatives and cutting-edge technology aimed at addressing some of the world’s most urgent climate challenges.

“COP29 is an invaluable platform to build international partnerships, drive climate action and solidify KKL-JNF’s position as a global leader in environmental sustainability,” said Noah Tal, director of KKL-JNF’s Planning Division. “We are proud to contribute to global efforts in tackling climate change and advancing sustainable development.”

At the conference, KKL-JNF will host a series of events in the Israeli pavilion, presenting groundbreaking pilot projects in solar energy, forests as gateways to health and resilience, and Israel’s first forest master plan, which will highlight its contributions to advancing the United Nations’ strategic program for forests.

“Participating in COP29 is a significant opportunity to elevate the international profile of both KKL-JNF and Israel in environmental protection and climate resilience,” said Ifat Ovadia-Luski, chairwoman of KKL-JNF. “We’re proud to lead the charge in advancing the global environmental agenda and showcasing Israel’s contributions to the global fight against climate change.”
