Meir Holtz has been appointed CEO of Masa Israel Journey.

Until recently, he has served as the CEO of Mosaic United, a joint venture between the Israeli Ministry for Diaspora Affairs and Jewish communities worldwide that focuses on strengthening the Jewish identity and connection of young Jews to Israel.

Prior to that, he was Deputy Health Coordinator in the Civil Administration of Judea and Samaria and a shaliach (“emissary”) for the Jewish Agency and Bnei Akiva in Sydney, Australia.

Holtz’s background, which includes a deep understanding of the Jewish world and the personal experience of making aliyah from the United States as a child, aligns perfectly with Masa’s mission.

Masa, established by the Jewish Agency and the Israeli government, is the leading organization bringing young Jewish adults from around the world to participate in immersive programming in Israel.

Approximately 12,000 fellows from some 60 countries join Masa each year, participating in programs that range from four weeks to 10 months. They have the opportunity to volunteer, study, intern, work or join a gap-year program.

Holtz will assume his role following six months during which Yael Sahar-Rubinstein served as acting CEO.

He will lead the organization during a time when Masa’s work is of critical importance, and the contributions of the younger generations of Jewish communities in Israel are invaluable.
