The Senate unanimously passed its version in October. The bill now goes to the president to sign it into law.
“This bipartisan legislation authorizes full funding of security assistance to ensure Israel has the means to defend itself,” AIPAC posted on Facebook with a link to “urge Sen. [Rand] Paul to stop blocking aid to Israel.”
Israeli dignitaries addressed a crowd that opposes the BDS movement and came to hear an update on the contentious area.
Said Israel’s Consul General to New York Dani Dayan: “If we are foreigners to Judea and Samaria, then of course we are foreigners to Tel Aviv.”
“The bad things are getting worse, and they’re very bad. The force behind so much of what is bad is this radical tyranny in Tehran. We must stop Iran,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told those attending the AIPAC conference.
“Some people accuse us of favoritism towards Israel,” U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley told AIPAC. “There’s nothing wrong with showing favoritism towards an ally; that’s what being an ally is all about.”
Howard Kohr, head of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, said everyone must work “toward that future: two states for two peoples. One Jewish with secure and defensible borders, and one Palestinian with its own flag and its own future.”
President Jimmy Morales says that his country will relocate its embassy to Jerusalem in May.
