A 28-year-old man from an Arab town near Hebron was arrested on Saturday when police discovered he was armed with a knife and meat cleaver near the Jewish community of Beit El in Samaria.
The man was stopped by traffic police near the community when they saw him acting suspiciously. A search of his vehicle uncovered the weapons. He told police that he was planning on carrying out an attack against Jews, according to police.
Earlier on Saturday, border police arrested an Arab man who attempted to clear security checks while carrying a knife at the checkpoint separating the Shuafat refugee camp from northern Jerusalem.
While Shin Bet security services announced a 40 percent drop in terror attacks in June, there were still 220 attacks reported across the country.
