Two infractions have gotten it into trouble with the administration, effective through the spring 2026 semester.
The group “has normalized extremist ideologies and left Jewish students and faculty more vulnerable” to campus Jew-hatred, Tammi Rossman-Benjamin, of the AMCHA Initiative, told JNS.
“The Trump administration will not allow Jewish life to be pushed into the shadows,” stated Craig Trainor, assistant secretary for civil rights.
The lawsuit reflects “a broader pattern across top universities where Israeli and Jewish professors and academics have been discriminated against,” Rebecca Harris, of the Brandeis Center, told JNS.
A member petition reached the 10% signature threshold, triggering a special meeting to discuss the adoption of such a resolution.
“He was very much a part of my Jewish life,” Elon’s father, Alan Dershowitz, told JNS.
“We will find new leadership for this community garden, so that all New Yorkers can continue to benefit from this public space,” Eric Adams told JNS.
The public school’s hiring gave “approbation to ideological indoctrination, not promoting intellectual curiosity,” Daniel Mariaschin, CEO of B’nai B’rith International, told JNS.
“We are hopeful this ruling emboldens UCLA in its interactions with the Trump administration,” Claudia Polsky, an attorney for the plaintiffs, told JNS.
Annette Lidawer, the Highland Park City Council member who introduced the bill, called it “true landmark legislation.”
Rabbi Levi Shemtov, who founded the GW Chabad, told JNS that the university hasn’t handled Jew-hatred well since Oct. 7 but is making improvements.
Tamar Nissim, Los Angeles regional director for the nonprofit, told JNS that some staffers didn’t show up to work, because they were afraid.
