Akiva Van Koningsveld is a news desk editor for JNS.org. Originally from The Hague, he made the big move from the Netherlands to Israel in 2020. Before joining JNS, he worked as a policy officer at the Center for Information and Documentation Israel, a Dutch organization dedicated to fighting antisemitism and spreading awareness about the Arab-Israel conflict. The meeting marked the first time the U.S. president hosted the Israeli prime minister at the White House since the premier returned to power in 2022.
The former U.S. president and Republican nominee for his old job also urged Jerusalem to “finish up” the war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip quickly.
The Israeli prime minister thanked the United States for its friendship and support, and emphasized the need to eradicate Hamas and to counter the Iranian threat.
