Air India called back Sunday’s flight after circling in the air while rocket sirens sounded. Austrian Airlines, Air Europa, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa and Swiss Air also canceled their flights.
The Irish carrier plans to operate direct flights to and from Israel to various European destinations.
United Airlines, Delta, Ryanair, Iberia, Air Baltic and British Airways are all scheduled to resume service by early April.
Another budget carrier expected to join in the coming months, possibly even by the end of March according to ticket sales on their website, is Ryanair.
A Lufthansa flight from Munich to Tel Aviv was unexpectedly diverted to Cyprus on Thursday, while an Austrian Airlines flight landed in Sofia instead of Ben Gurion Airport.
“There were about six young [Israeli] people like us and around 15 others in family groups. There was a large family of six, another family of five.”
Tens of thousands of Israelis had left their homes near Gaza and Lebanon.
Ever since it resumed flights to Ben-Gurion Airport, it has had to use Terminal 3—which charges higher fees.
