“The U.S. Constitution’s religious protections provide no authority for religious courts to skirt state and federal laws,” the Texas governor wrote.
The Israeli head of state expressed his “deepest condolences” as deaths and the missing continued to mount.
“Law enforcement at all levels must aggressively collaborate to eliminate radicalization,” the governor said.
“The court finds the incorporation of this specific definition of antisemitism is viewpoint discrimination,” a federal district court judge ruled.
The governor said “Israel refuses to be defined by those attacks of war.”
“Texas will always stand with the State of Israel and the Israeli people,” said Gov. Greg Abbott.
“As we approach the one-year anniversary of the Oct. 7 terrorist attack in Israel,” the governor wrote, “it is crucial that Texas colleges and universities stay vigilant.”
“These protesters belong in jail,” said Texas Gov. Greg Abbott. “Students joining in hate-filled, antisemitic protests at any public college or university in Texas should be expelled.”
The agency’s mission is to combat and confront hatred, prejudice and indifference by educating Texans about the Holocaust and other genocides.
