Herzog spoke with Ambassador Jack Lew as lawmaker Yitzhak Kroizer, a member of the Israeli coalition, ascended Judaism’s holiest site in prayer.
The Israeli president congratulated Qaid Farhan Alkadi’s family on his safe return, and called for the swift return of all 108 hostages still being held by Hamas.
“This is once again an opportunity to express our gratitude and support for our daughters and sons in the Israel Defense Forces,” said the president.
“We’re not going to parse the secretary’s words,” a U.S. State Department spokesperson told JNS.
“I’m here as part of an intensive diplomatic effort on President Biden’s instructions to try to get this agreement to the line, and ultimately over the line.”

“We mourn together, embrace together, and cry out together for the immediate release of our brothers and sisters from the darkness of captivity,” said the Israeli president.
“We in Israel also see the anxieties, concerns and vulnerability of Jewish communities around the world,” said the Israeli head of state.
Due to security concerns, the Israeli medalists did not participate in the medal presentations in front of the Eiffel Tower.
The 15-year-old suspect will be ordered to undergo a mandatory “citizenship course” in light of his clean criminal record.
“They were held up for 40 minutes due to a security concern,” a spokesperson for the president confirmed to JNS.
