An undisclosed NATO member country in Europe has signed a $60 million deal with Israel’s Elbit Systems for advanced counter-drone defense capabilities, the defense manufacturer announced this week.

The agreement, announced on Monday, encompasses a three-year implementation period for the company’s advanced ReDrone™ counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS).

The contract marks a significant expansion of Elbit’s presence in European defense infrastructure, following a similar $55 million agreement with the government of the Netherlands in August 2023.

The ReDrone system integrates multiple layers of advanced detection and countermeasure technologies, including the DAiR radar system, signal intelligence sensors, electronic warfare capabilities and day/night electro-optical surveillance equipment, according to Elbit.

Elbit Systems has seen continual momentum and expansion in recent months including increased demand in its counter-drone technology deployment across NATO territories looking to strengthen their counter-drone capabilities in response to emerging aerial threats.

Prosecutors said the man caused damage to both facilities before sending texts boasting about the vandalism.
Despite Israeli objections to previously reported terms, the official said Washington is confident that all U.S. allies “will get on board” with the emerging agreement.
