Israeli forces struck more than 200 targets throughout the Gaza Strip in the past 48 hours as part of “Operation Gideon’s Chariots,” including tunnel shafts, weapons caches, sniper positions and terrorist infrastructure, the Israel Defense Forces announced Monday.

Southern Command forces, guided by Military Intelligence and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), conducted widespread attacks across Gaza.

In the southern Strip, IDF troops attacked a Hamas military compound containing a weapons depot, observation post and other structures. Several terrorists who posed a threat to Israeli forces in the area were identified and eliminated by an airstrike.

In the northern Gaza Strip, a fighter jet destroyed a building used by a Hamas Nukhba terrorist.

Separately, Israeli forces targeted key Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists overnight Sunday in a command-and-control compound in Gaza City, the IDF and Shin Bet said.

The compound was established inside the former “Fahmi al-Jarghawi” school building and used by terrorist operatives to plan and coordinate attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF personnel, according to the military.

The joint operation employed precision-guided munitions and was preceded by extensive aerial surveillance and intelligence gathering to minimize civilian casualties, according to the military.

“The terrorist organizations systematically violate international law by cynically exploiting civilian institutions and using the local population as human shields for terrorist activity,” the IDF stated.

The military and Shin Bet vowed to continue operating “with strength and determination” against all terrorist entities in the Gaza Strip.
