Israel’s Iron Dome air defense system intercepted a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip on Saturday night, according to the military.

Sirens sounded in Kibbutz Nahal Oz, along the Gaza-Israel border, the Israel Defense Forces said in a statement.

No injuries or damage were reported.

It was the second such incident in as many weeks, coming after terrorists in Gaza fired a rocket at Israel on Feb. 1. That projectile was also downed by Iron Dome.

In late January, terrorists in the coastal enclave launched a barrage of rockets at Israeli communities, prompting retaliatory strikes against Hamas military assets.

The attack also comes on the heels of a terrorist attack in Jerusalem earlier in the day which left three people dead; Alter Shlomo Lederman, 20; Asher Menachem Paley, 8; and his brother, Yaakov Israel Paley, 6.

Many residents have returned home to rebuild their lives since the rockets attacks began in 2023.
The two discussed bilateral ties, regional developments and “the importance of combating antisemitism,” according to Gideon Sa’ar.
“The Command continues to deepen, learn, and test solutions that will strengthen the protection of human life,” an IDF commander said.
The IDF “avoided entering the church to protect civilians and respect the sanctity of the holy site,” the Foreign Ministry said.
