Security forces on Friday killed a terrorist belonging to the Palestinian Authority Police near Nablus in Samaria, the Israel Defense Forces, Israel Border Police and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) said in a joint statement.

Yamam, the Border Police’s National Counter-Terrorism Unit, was deployed to the town of Tell in the P.A.'s Nablus Governorate to locate the terrorist who fired at and wounded a reserve combat soldier the previous day, the statement read.

In less than 35 hours since the incident, the special forces operators, guided by the Shin Bet, identified and found the shooter holding a long weapon and killed him, the Israeli military said.

IDF troops operating in the same area apprehended an additional terrorist who surrendered himself, and who was also an operative in the police of the Palestinian Authority.

In Burqin, west of Jenin, IDF soldiers guided by the Shin Bet arrested a Palestinian terrorist who opened fire at them, the statement continued.

Simultaneously, Yamam forces operating in Far’a, a Palestinian “refugee camp” in northwestern Samaria, apprehended an additional individual suspected of terrorist activity.

The detained suspects were transferred for further questioning by the Shin Bet. “All of them are operatives in the Palestinian Police,” authorities said.

Overnight Wednesday, Israeli forces carried out a sweeping counter-terrorism operation across Judea and Samaria, seizing weapons and arresting suspected terrorists linked to recent attacks, the IDF and Shin Bet said.

Guided by Shin Bet intelligence, IDF troops searched more than 70 locations, finding weapons concealed inside residences, including a Carlo-type submachine gun hidden in a microwave and a hunting rifle stashed behind a curtain, the military said.

Troops operated in more than 300 sites, arresting three terrorists involved in plotting future attacks, including one who had hurled Molotov cocktails at Israeli civilians. More than 200 suspects were questioned and dozens of vehicles allegedly purchased with terror funds were confiscated.
