Mark Podwal drew “Israeli Tank” in the 1980s. It appeared on the New York Times op-ed page in 1989.
The drawing, which shows a tank with a nine-branched main gun that evoke a Hanukkah menorah, has been exhibited at the Jewish Museum in Prague and the Yeshiva University Museum in Manhattan. It is slated to appear soon in an exhibit at Hebrew Union College
“My drawing appeared in 1989 on the New York Times Op-Ed page and has been exhibited in several of my museum exhibitions including at Yeshiva University Museum and the Jewish Museum in Prague. It is about to be exhibited at the Heller Museum at Hebrew Union College.
“Sadly, the drawing is even more relevant today,” Podwal told JNS.
