Is Israel headed for a constitutional crisis?

“Israel Insider” with Ashley Perry

A major and unprecedented battle looms in Israel as the Supreme Court debates the government’s new law limiting the court’s powers. Is Israel headed towards a constitutional crisis? What might be the consequences? How can a crisis be averted?

“Israel Insider with Ashley Perry” is produced and hosted by the Middle East Forum (MEF). Each week, Ashley Perry, a former senior Israeli government adviser, provides insight into what’s behind the headlines in Israel.

You can join it here live every Wednesday at 3 p.m. EST, 8 p.m. U.K. time and 10 p.m. Israel time, or catch it on YouTube, Apple Podcasts and SoundCloud the following day.

Ashley Perry is an adviser to the Middle East Forum’s Israel office. He served as an adviser to Israel’s foreign minister and deputy prime minister from 2009 to 2015. He is president of Reconectar, an organization dedicated to relinking the more than 200 million descendants of Spanish and Portuguese Jews to Israel and Jewish life. Originally from the United Kingdom, he moved to Israel in 2001.
“Parents need help, because they are the anchor for their children,” the lead researcher told TPS-IL.
The case is being handled by counter-terrorism officers. The memorial wall reportedly features images of protesters allegedly killed by the Iranian regime in January.
Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and the Tekuma Authority will invest $24 million.
Outgoing IDF spokesperson tells JNS that foreign powers are investing money and bots to promote fake news that fuels antisemitism.
“At least one student was injured by this incident, which is now under an investigation that will examine among other things whether individuals were targeted based on their Jewish faith,” the private D.C. school said.
“Our office’s objection is to the court’s offer of probation, as we believe this case warrants a prison sentence,” Tom Dunlevy, supervising senior deputy district attorney for Ventura County, told JNS.
