Israel’s historic moment at home and abroad

“The Caroline Glick Show” with David Goldman, Episode 42

This week on “The Caroline Glick Show,” Caroline is joined by David Goldman from the Asia Times to discuss the status of the war in Ukraine, whose bitter one-year anniversary we mark this week.

Caroline and David discuss the state of the war on the ground, and the prospects for ending it. They discuss how the war has impacted the United States’ reputation as an ally and a global superpower, regional realities in the Middle East in light of Russia’s burgeoning alliance with Iran, and how Israel needs to assess its relationship with the United States, Russia and China as Iran strides towards a declared nuclear arsenal and the U.S. sinks in stature, competence and credibility.

In her opening, Caroline talks about the historic significance of the Knesset’s passage in first reading of the first two bills in the Israeli government’s judicial reform package.

Monday, Feb. 21, 2023, the Jewish new month of Adar, marked the first time in Israeli history that the right began seizing governing power from Israel’s permanent bureaucracy, she says.

She goes into the question of why the nationalist camp didn’t take this action decades ago, and why today’s action, and the full implementation of Justice Minister Yariv Levin’s legal reform package, is imperative for the preservation of Israel as the Jewish state and the restoration of Israeli democracy.

Caroline B. Glick is the international affairs advisor to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Hamas said it is willing to move forward with second stage of the U.S.-brokered framework, calling on Washington to exert pressure on Jerusalem.
“We can and know how to stand our ground—even against our best friends when necessary,” said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“I’m happy that the University of Washington, for literally the first time ever, has made the correct decision to not have an America-hating communist spread his hatred and terrible ideology to young people at our taxpayer funded universities,” Republican state representative Travis Couture told JNS.
The student plaintiffs are “very, very happy” with the settlement, and the college’s statement is an “amazing change,” Lori Lowenthal Marcus of the Deborah Project told JNS.
