The move came in response to the murder of Tzeela Gez, a pregnant Israeli who was murdered while driving to the delivery room.
“When you dig here you touch the Bible with your own hands,” said Yossi Dagan, chairman of the Samaria Regional Council.
The ministry said the move would include recognizing the Samaria Regional Council as an “official public diplomacy tool of the State of Israel.”
“If we don’t create a situation where we have sovereignty here, we’re going to see another Oct. 7th,” said retired three-star general William Boykin.
“We all pray for the peace of Judea and Samaria, and for the peace of all of Israel,” the U.S. ambassador said.
Larry Huch, a confidant of the U.S. president, is honored for his steadfast support of Jewish communities in the region.
“We will never be afraid. This is our land; and we will win,” says Yossi Dagan.
“Joseph’s Tomb is a symbol of the Jewish people’s deep connection to the Land of Israel,” said Israel Ganz, head of the Binyamin Regional Council.
“Sovereignty will give us maximum security,” said Avida Bachar, who lost his wife and 15-year-old son in the Oct. 7, 2023, terrorist assault.
