Terrorist killed by IDF forces in western Samaria

Soldiers fired at three terrorists stoning civilian traffic near Qalqilya, according to the military. One of the terrorists was neutralized and another apprehended,

Israeli forces on Sunday night eliminated a Palestinian who had been stoning civilian traffic on a central road near the city of Qalqilya in Western Samaria, according to the Israel Defense Forces. A second terrorist was “neutralized,” while a third was arrested, the army said.

“During IDF operational activity adjacent to the area of Azzun, three terrorists hurled rocks toward a central route and endangered the civilians who were driving along the route,” the army stated.

“The soldiers responded with fire toward the terrorists; one terrorist was eliminated, and the other neutralized,” the statement continued. “An additional terrorist was apprehended. No IDF injuries were reported.”

Hebrew media identified the fatality as Moaman Abu Riash, 17, from the central Israeli city of Ramle, located around 15 miles southeast of Tel Aviv. The other suspects were reportedly Palestinian residents of Judea and Samaria.

Israeli security forces on Friday concluded a two-week counter-terror operation in northern Samaria, during which six terrorists were killed and dozens of wanted individuals were apprehended, the military said.

Troops seized hundreds of thousands of shekels and dozens of weapons, including pistols, M16 rifles and locally-made submachine guns, as well as ammunition and knives. More than 30 targeted strikes were carried out, according to an IDF statement.

On Saturday night, IDF troops operating in the Judea city of Hebron thwarted an attempt by a Palestinian terrorist to run soldiers over.

On Dec. 2, two IDF soldiers were lightly wounded in a Palestinian terror attack outside the community of Ateret in Samaria’s Binyamin region.

In a separate attack overnight the previous day, an IDF soldier sustained injuries in an Arab vehicular assault at the Judea Junction near Hebron.

Palestinian terrorists targeted Israeli Jews in Judea and Samaria at least 6,343 times in 2024, including 3,668 times with rocks, according to data published by Rescuers Without Borders (Hatzalah Judea and Samaria).

The organization’s data did not include hundreds of attacks targeting Israeli security personnel during ongoing counter-terrorism raids in Palestinian Authority–controlled cities and towns in the region.

Twenty-seven Israelis were murdered in Judea and Samaria in 2024, and more than 300 others were wounded, the group said in its annual report.

“Judea and Samaria are central to Jewish history and faith,” stated David Livingston, a Republican state representative. “This resolution affirms what is true and rejects language created to deny it.”
