With almost 4,000 known marriages, JWed, a pioneer in Jewish online dating for marriage, has launched an innovative new member feature— introducing “FriendsIntro.”

Through a powerful but simple interface, JWed members can invite friends to share authentic “rave reviews” about themselves and approve them to post on their JWed profile.

Derek Saker, co-founder and CEO of JWed, says that while JWed believes that singles know themselves best, “it is admittedly sometimes hard to vouch for yourself!”

Indeed, while well-meaning profile descriptions such as “I am a people person and love helping others” or “my friends call me Einstein” may honestly reflect true aspects of an individual, they just don’t sound best when coming from singles themselves. And, admittedly, it’s awkward.

Here’s how it works. A JWed member sends a unique link to their friends, inviting them to submit a rave review about them! The friend submits their online review, which is then authenticated by their credentials including name and email. Once approved by JWed, the JWed member can choose to publish the review to their profile.

Saker says that while FriendsInto was only launched a week ago, the feature has already been adopted by hundreds of members.

Barbara Heller, an award-winning actress, podcaster and filmmaker, has created a hilarious video on FriendsIntro, showing the what and how of the new JWed feature.

FriendsIntro is part of JWed’s unique online dating service, that enables singles to put their best foot forward through a differentially comprehensive profile, including the very successful VoiceIntro feature introduced almost two years ago. With VoiceIntro, members are able to leave a 60-second audio introduction to themselves as well.

Saker says that JWed constantly looks to find a balance: On the one hand, enabling members to smoothly move from one profile to the next, but at the same time providing members with a detailed introductory picture of the person, beyond just the normal photo and generic basics.

JWed believes that the new FriendsIntro feature will only further help Jewish singles meet and marry by powerfully offering an even more holistic picture of the depth and beauty of every Jewish single.
