Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made a concentrated effort to develop relations with African countries, including making contact with the leaders of Somalia and Mali.
“The Mujahideen (holy warriors) carried out this operation ... (as) a response to the witless remarks of U.S. president, Donald Trump, and his declaration of Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as the capital of Israel,” said the two-page statement.

A source briefed on the meeting said “the Israelis and Sudanese discussed the warming of relations between the countries and possible Israeli aid to Sudan in the fields of medicine, agriculture and the economy.”
“We discussed the great changes that are taking place in the Arab world in its relations with Israel,” said the Israeli prime minister.
