Opting to appear on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” the Jewish Democrat representing Michigan said: “Had I made it back for the vote yesterday, I would have voted yes to block offensive weapons to Israel.”
“Democrats are moving forward on this issue, and I look forward to Republican support in the near future,” the Vermont Independent stated.
“Trump, like Biden before him, has aided and abetted the extremist Netanyahu government as it has systematically killed and starved civilians in Gaza,” wrote Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).
“The First Amendment, the Constitution, the Supreme Court, ruled that you can say terrible things,” Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said in opposing the legislation.

“No one in the world is coming to the support of Hamas,” Sen. Jim Risch said. “No one with the exception of some misguided people in this organization.”
The effort marks the first major test for the chamber’s Democrats on Israel policy in the new term.
“The majority of Senate Democrats and Senate Republicans again demonstrated profound American support for our ally and rejected the dangerous efforts by Sen. Bernie Sanders,” AIPAC stated.
The resolutions would prevent the transfer of more than $20 billion in weapons to Jerusalem.
The Vermont senator sent a letter to the Biden administration co-signed with 12 other lawmakers, including Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.).
“Sending more weapons is not only immoral, it is also illegal,” the Vermont senator said.
He also said the proposal by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) to freeze military aid to Israel would “embolden terrorists like Hamas and Hezbollah.”
