The Community Security Trust recorded 1,521 anti-Jewish incidents in the first six months of 2025.
The “BBC” airing of the event drew criticism, including by the country’s chief rabbi.
The 3,528 antisemitic incidents in the United Kingdom in 2024 were “far higher than annual levels recorded before the recent conflict in the Middle East.”
The Community Security Trust recorded 3,528 incidents, “reflecting sustained levels of hatred towards Jews.”
“We have committed to engage across government departments to ensure the action we need to reclaim our streets, campuses and community buildings,” the groups said.
“There is no sign that the volume of anti-Jewish hatred is subsiding,” CST said.
The 320 anti-Jewish incidents from Oct. 7 to Oct. 16 are up from 47 during the same period in 2022, though these numbers almost certainly undercount anti-Jewish incidents.
A growing number of victims are children, as are a growing number of perpetrators.
The broadcaster “made a serious editorial misjudgment by not reporting on air at any point that the claim it had made in the news broadcast was disputed,” Ofcom said.
Britain’s Community Security Trust said “without a trigger event to prompt it,” this year’s figure of 786 may represent a “new normal” and “a baseline of anti-Semitism in the U.K.”
Community Security Trust is asking witnesses and victims to report the crimes to the police.
