New York Rep. Elise Stefanik, who could become Trump’s running mate, says there would be no weapons embargo on Israel if he returns to power.
“We’re providing everything we possibly can to Israel to help them,” said the U.S. secretary of state during congressional testimony.
Israel must be supplied “with what it needs, when it needs it, without conditions, to achieve total victory in the face of evil,” says Rep. Elise Stefanik.
The Israel Security Assistance Support Act “was not a genuine attempt to protect Israel’s security, nor to successfully direct offensive weapons to Israel,” said the New York congressman.
“The president’s threat to veto this legislation and Schumer’s refusal to bring it to a vote in the Senate are acts of betrayal to our closest ally in the region,” said Speaker of the House Mike Johnson.
Harvard graduate student Shabbos Kestenbaum told JNS that it’s a “damning indictment” on higher education that “in order to receive equity and justice, we have to resort to the media, to Congress, to lawsuits.”
The heads of the House education and oversight committees asked U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen for reports on “suspicious activity” related to the groups.
“Reps. Miller and Bacon are both fierce advocates for their constituents and strong allies to the Jewish community and America’s key strategic partner, Israel,” the Republican Jewish Coalition stated.
“The bill would undermine the president’s ability to execute an effective foreign policy,” the Biden administration said.
“My opponent is in the pocket and bought and paid for by AIPAC,” Rep. Jamaal Bowman said of his challenger, the Westchester County executive.
“Any actions to withhold resources impede our national and global security and send a dangerous signal that the U.S. cannot be counted on,” per the bill’s sponsors.
“At a time when Israel is under attack, it is critical that potential medical breakthroughs are not stifled,” said Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks.
