“TikTok has helped fuel a horrific spike in antisemitism that our communities are feeling every day,” said Eric Fingerhut, president and CEO of Jewish Federations of North America.
House Education Committee Chair Rep. Virginia Foxx said “some of the worst cases of antisemitic assaults, harassment and vandalism” had occurred at the New York City school.
Democrats and Republicans filed competing discharge petitions to force a vote on foreign aid, as the Senate minority leader repeated his call for a regular floor vote.
“Several of Local 2325’s members were forced to be associated with a union that had taken a critical position affecting their faith, the State of Israel, and Israel’s sovereignty.,” Rep. Virginia Foxx wrote.
Adam Schiff, Pramila Jayapal and Summer Lee were among those who signed the resolution.
“Social media is a major driver of the rise in antisemitism, and that TikTok is the worst offender by far,” Jewish Federations of North America wrote.
“The term ‘West Bank’ is used to delegitimize Israel’s historical claim to this land,” stated Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.).
“Netanyahu opposes a two-state solution,” the Democrats said. “That puts him in direct conflict with President Biden and virtually all Arab states.”
“It is now more important than ever that the American people hear from you directly in a public setting,” the Republican letter says.
“It’s time to turn to diplomacy: end the war, return the hostages, and arrive at a long overdue station of permanent peace,” stated Madeleine Dean (D-Pa.).
The representatives, all Democrats, claimed there have been “more journalists killed in three months than have ever been killed in a single country over an entire year.”
“After that occurs, we can turn our focus forward to … the creation of a long sought-after two-state solution,” Reps. Nadler, Goldman, Raskin and others wrote.
