The subcommittee hearing is to be titled “Rising Threat: America’s battle against antisemitic terror.”
“We are starkly reminded that silence is complicity,” said Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), who introduced the resolution with Sen. Dave McCormick (R-Pa.).
“The American people have no interest in sending servicemembers to fight another forever war in the Middle East,” the Virginia senator stated.
The U.S. secretary of state said that “we are not involved in strikes against Iran, and our top priority is protecting American forces in the region.”
The hearing was short on “concrete recommendations, given the exigency of the threat we have,” Kerry Sleeper, of Secure Community Network, told JNS.
“Where is the outrage for these two young victims?” Rep. Mike Johnson said. “We must stand up and protect our Jewish brothers and sisters.”
“Jewish communities are facing a real crisis with a real set of threats, and Congress must respond with real action,” Nathan Diament said.
“I can say that Jerusalem is a consensus in Israel, and I think our bonds with America are a consensus,” Moshe Tur-Paz, co-chair of the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus, told JNS.
