“The news about a ceasefire is incorrect. This is an American-French proposal that the prime minister has not even responded to,” said the Israeli premier’s office.
Coalition members flatly rejected the U.S.-France proposal for a 21-day ceasefire, while opposition leader Yair Lapid argued that a shorter truce could be acceptable.
“Sending more weapons is not only immoral, it is also illegal,” the Vermont senator said.

The president “is beginning to acknowledge” that the chances of a Gaza ceasefire deal are fading, his aides say.

The Israeli premier reportedly made the remark to lawmakers during a closed meeting of the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.
“I can’t confirm it, nor can I deny it. We have one mission: to reach him—and we will,” said the IDF spokesperson.
Neither organization responded to requests for comment on how they view Tehran’s role in improving the humanitarian situation in the Strip.
