The underground complex was intended to serve as a secure emergency command center for the supreme leader.

The Israeli Navy struck and killed Wasim Attallah Ali, a Hamas commander responsible for training and exercises in Lebanon.
The troops are operating in roughly 35 battalions nationwide and have been dispatched to dozens of sites since the start of the war.
“What happened inside Iran, the position of the U.S. president and the possibility of creating a combined operation created the need to move everything up,” Defense Minister Israel Katz said.
