Israeli security forces arrested approximately 85 wanted individuals and seized many weapons during counter-terrorism operations across Judea and Samaria this week, the IDF said on Friday.

The arrests were carried out in three brigade-level operations, including overnight raids in the Samaria, Menashe and Binyamin Brigade areas of deployment. In Balata, on the outskirts of Nablu,s and in Tubas, dozens of suspects linked to terrorism in northern Samaria were detained.

As part of the operations, Israeli forces also demolished the homes of two terrorists responsible for deadly attacks: one in Deir Ibzi, west of Ramallah, where IDF Maj. David Garfinkel was killed at the Al-Harsa Junction, and another in Tulkarem belonging to Muhammad Sharukh, who participated in the Beit Lid Junction attack that claimed the life of Maj. (res.) Elhanan Ariel Klein.

To bolster security during the Passover holiday in the Jewish month of Nisan, the IDF announced that it will reinforce the Judea and Samaria Division with six additional companies.

“The security forces will continue to act both defensively and offensively to ensure the safety of Israel’s citizens,” the military said.
