IDF forces thwarts attacks by Palestinians throwing rocks at Israeli vehicles

In Palestinian areas in Judea and Samaria, some 57 cases of the virus have been discovered so far, with most of them in Bethlehem.

The Israeli military shot and killed a Palestinian on Monday who was throwing rocks at Israeli troops, said the Palestinian health ministry and Israel Defense Forces.

The IDF thwarted the attack and fired at a number of suspects who were throwing rocks at Israeli vehicles on a highway in Judea and Samaria, according to an AP report. The highway is located near the town of Qaliqilya.

Palestinians often carry out attacks against Israelis in Judea and Samaria, but the violence has lessened since the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19). The Palestinian Authority has since ordered a lockdown

In the Hamas-controlled Gaza, health officials announced on Sunday that two residents who recently returned from Pakistan had tested positive for coronavirus, raising concerns that due the poor health care and dense population in the Hamas-controlled enclave, the virus would spread rapidly.
