Soldiers on the scene opened fire on the vehicle and later launched a pursuit of the suspect. During the pursuit, the suspect spotted the soldiers, exited the truck and opened fire on them, the IDF said in a statement. The soldiers used live fire to kill the attacker.

The assailant is suspected of being involved in several recent incidents. Soldiers are searching the area for additional suspects.
