Israeli forces on Saturday arrested two terror suspects in connection with the shooting in Huwara in March that wounded two soldiers.

The morning raid took place in the Old City of Nablus (biblical Shechem) in northern Samaria. The suspects were identified as Iyad Tahruri, 24, and Zaev Mazhar, 21.

They are accused of wounding two Israeli soldiers on March 25 in a drive-by shooting at a military post in Huwara, a village located just outside Nablus in Samaria.

An M-16 rifle and ammunition that were in the suspects’ possession were also seized during the raid.

No Israeli casualties were reported.

The terrorist responsible for the murders of Israeli brothers Hallel Menachem and Yagel Yaakov Yaniv in Huwara on Feb. 26 was killed in a raid in Jenin in early March, and his two sons arrested. The military announced last week that the terrorist’s home will be demolished.

Israeli security forces pursued and captured the terrorist responsible for the shooting on March 19 that seriously wounded dual Israeli-U.S. citizen David Stern.

Following the murder of the Yaniv brothers, Israeli Transportation Minister Miri Regev pledged to accelerate the creation of a bypass road around Huwara whose construction was frozen under the previous government.

The Israeli military recently undertook transportation infrastructure upgrades to increase security for Israelis driving through Huwara.
