Brazilian security forces, in cooperation with Israel’s Mossad national intelligence agency, foiled an attack on Jewish and Israeli targets by the Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorist group, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office announced on Wednesday.

In a statement from Jerusalem, the Mossad thanked Brazil’s security forces “for the arrest of a terrorist cell that acted on behalf of the terrorist organization Hezbollah.”

That cell was “controlled and financed” by Iran, Israeli intelligence suggests.

The Folha de São Paulo newspaper quoted local police as saying Hezbollah attempted to recruit Brazilian citizens to carry out attacks against the Brazilian Jewish community.

Two individuals were reportedly apprehended in São Paulo, which is home to 50,000 Jews, or about half of the country’s Jewish population. One suspect was arrested at São Paulo’s international airport after having just landed from Lebanon, added the report.

The U.S. Army has “flattened” Iran’s air defenses and defense industrial base, including the factories and production lines supporting missile and drone programs, the American defense secretary said.
“Terrorist propaganda online can incite real-world violence,” stated Pamela Bondi, the U.S. attorney general.
“The Iranian regime executed a 19-year-old for demanding democracy,” stated Sen. John Fetterman. “I stand with his memory and the thousands of other young Iranians.”
More than 70,000 Americans have returned to the United States from the Middle East since the Iran conflict began on Feb. 28.
“If this thing is growing, this inauthentic account is going to deceive more people,” Rep. Chris Smith told JNS. “Especially overseas, where there’s a language barrier or something.”
“We are now part of a process at the International Court of Justice initiated by Nicaragua,” Berlin said. “We have decided to focus on this process.”
