At least two Syrian rockets hit Israel’s Sea of Galilee (Kinneret) on Wednesday with beaches full of swimmers nearby amid the summer vacation season.

“There were two explosions, and we saw a wave of people leave the water,” an Israeli swimmer told Ynet News. “We heard a strong boom that caused a strong wave in the water.”

The IDF said it was still confirming where the rockets hit, but that it may have been errant fire from the ongoing fighting in Syria.

Following the rocket fire, the IDF targeted the rocket launcher in Syria.

“In response to the 2 rockets launched at Israel from Syria, IDF aircraft targeted the rocket launcher from which they were fired. The area surrounding it was targeted by artillery,” the IDF Spokesperson Unit said.

The rockets from Syria on Wednesday came just a day after the IDF shot down a Russian-made Syrian fighter jet that had entered Israeli airspace.

Washington previously imposed on International Criminal Court judges for investigating U.S. citizens and U.S. allies.
Implementation is scheduled to begin in September and will be phased in gradually.
The gunman posed an immediate threat and was targeted in a precision strike, the military said.
Jerusalem will not allow “any breach of the lawful naval blockade on Gaza,” the Foreign Ministry said.
Regional security officials said it was used during operations targeting Tehran in 2025 and 2026.
Earlier forecasts feared a 9.5% drop in GDP in the first quarter, but current data point to a much more positive outcome.
