Two Israel Defense Forces troops were wounded during a 40-hour counterterror raid on the Nur Shams camp in western Samaria, the military said on Thursday.

The soldiers were slightly and moderately injured by shrapnel from an explosive device and were evacuated to a hospital for treatment.

In another raid in the northern Samaria town of Sir, just south of Jenin, a soldier was seriously wounded by an explosive charge, the military added.

Reserve forces operating in Nur Shams “searched hundreds of buildings, detained hundreds of suspects for questioning and arrested 11 wanted persons,” per the IDF.

Troops also destroyed terrorist infrastructure and confiscated many weapons during the raid, it added.

Troops discovered a U.N. Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) daycare center that terrorists had booby-trapped.

Per UNRWA, 13,500 Palestinians are registered as living in the camp, located near Tulkarem.

Last week, an Israeli drone struck a terror cell in Nur Shams, providing cover to soldiers who came under fire during an arrest operation.

Terrorists also threw explosives at the troops from inside a mosque.

Days earlier, another Israeli drone strike killed six Palestinian terrorists in the camp.

Also last week, Israeli forces destroyed an explosives lab in Nur Shams. Soldiers confiscated more than 30 weapons, improvised rockets and other armaments from the building where the lab was located.

An IDF soldier was lightly wounded by shrapnel when terrorists shot and threw explosives at the troops, who returned fire.

Overnight Wednesday, the IDF detained 29 wanted Palestinians in other operations across Judea and Samaria.

Since Hamas’s Oct. 7 massacre, some 2,600 terror suspects have been arrested in Judea and Samaria. About 1,300 are affiliated with Hamas.
