Israeli security forces arrested 18 wanted suspects during counter-terror activities in Judea and Samaria overnight Monday, according to the Israel Defense Forces.
A terrorist was killed in close-quarters combat during an ongoing brigade-level operation in Tulkarem in northwestern Samaria, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Menashe Regional Brigade.
Security forces from the Ephraim Regional Brigade confiscated firearms, including rifles and pistols, and arrested two wanted suspects.
In Nablus (Shechem), undercover Border Police officers from the Judea and Samaria Division, together with forces from the Samaria Regional Brigade, fired at and neutralized a terrorist attempting to escape. Two more terror suspects were taken into custody during the operation. In the village of Yitma, they arrested three additional wanted individuals.
Overnight Sunday, Israeli forces arrested nine wanted Palestinians in Judea and Samaria, according to the IDF. During the operation, forces confiscated an M16 rifle, a submachine gun, ammunition, weapons parts, explosives components and additional military equipment.
Meanwhile, Palestinian Authority security forces had seized a vehicle loaded with locally-made explosives as it was heading toward the Jenin camp in northern Samaria, Ynet reported on Monday.
P.A. security forces also apprehended three wanted Jenin residents, according to the report.
Against the backdrop of Ramallah’s counter-terror offensive over the past two weeks, Kan News shared a video purportedly of Jenin-based terrorists threatening suicide bombing attacks on P.A. security forces.
“You will never enter the Jenin camp, over our bodies,” the terrorists state in the video.
