“Amidst a rising tide of antisemitism in our country, I’m praying for safety and prosperity for our Jewish community,” the New York City mayor told JNS.
It includes prayers and liturgical poems for the High Holidays, the Three Festivals and more, according to the Sephardic rite.
“At a time of rising levels of antisemitism and hate across America, public safety must be paramount,” Richard Hirschhaut, of the American Jewish Committee, told JNS.
“We feel very relieved that the village has reconsidered their denial and chosen to be inclusive in allowing our community to have our service in Leonard Park,” Rabbi Arik Wolf told JNS.
A convergence of several events could further inflame tensions, starting with the expected recognition of “Palestine” at the United Nations.
“They constantly remind the next generation of the struggles and of the history,” the New York City mayor said.
This book seeks “to convince Jews of all persuasions everywhere to reconsider how they perceive other Jews.”
The month-long drive will run through Oct. 13.
