The Black Lives Matter movement is a complete, utter fraud

“Top Story” with Jonathan Tobin and guest Heather Mac Donald, Ep. 97

The new secular religion of anti-racism is conquering America, says JNS editor-in-chief Jonathan Tobin. And its governing creed is the woke catechism of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). But rather than being a force that is spreading equality and racial harmony, it is doing the opposite. That’s the thesis of guest Heather Mac Donald’s new book, When Race Trumps Merit: How The Pursuit of Equity Sacrifices Excellence, Destroys Beauty and Threatens Lives.

Mac Donald explained that guilt over America’s racist past has caused people to lose sight of the fact that racial prejudice has been banished from the public square. But the moral panic over race is fueling a war against Western civilization and giving impetus to a demand for equity, which, in practice, means racial quotas. The author says Americans are being asked not to notice the collapse of standards in the sciences, the arts and everything else and then being called “racists” if they do acknowledge reality.

The lies about equity and race are made clear in the debate over policing. As Mac Donald’s research has shown, the widespread belief that the police are murdering large numbers of African-American males is untrue. The real threat to black lives in this country is from black criminals. Black youths are more than 100 times more likely to be shot than whites.

According to Mac Donald, “If those black juveniles had been shot by whites, we would have heard about every one of those shootings. In fact, we heard about virtually none of them because they were all shot by blacks. We turn our eyes away from the daily carnage every single day, dozens of blacks are killed in homicide. That’s more than all white and Hispanic homicide victims combined, even though blacks are 13% of the nation’s population. And we do not look at those black victims because they do not fit our narrative. The Black Lives Matter movement is a complete, utter fraud. It is a shameless deception. They do not give a damn about black lives. President Biden does not give a damn about black lives. The Democratic Party does not give a damn about black lives. The New York Times doesn’t give a damn about black lives. The Washington Post doesn’t give a damn about black lives. The only people who seem to care about black lives are white conservatives and conservative media. They’re the only ones that have raised an alarm about the massive increase in crime following the George Floyd mass psychosis. They talk about it all the time, and they’re called racist for doing so.”
