OpinionU.S.-Israel Relations

Thank you, President Trump, for standing with Israel and leading the free world

We feel a partnership we haven’t felt in years, one based on shared values.

In an era when many in the West have lost their moral compass, U.S. President Donald Trump has demonstrated something rare: clarity and conviction. His steadfast support for Israel and the Jewish people has never been about politics alone. It has been about his core values.

As an Israeli and someone deeply committed to the values that define Western civilization, I recognize in Trump’s actions something historic. From brokering the Abraham Accords to confronting the Iranian regime head-on, he has understood what many have failed to grasp: that the struggle facing Israel is not merely geographic. It is ideological.

He has also shown the world that outside-of-the-box diplomacy is what it takes to make peace in the Middle East.

Iran’s obsession with Israel is not about disputed borders. It is about erasing the Jewish people. The Jewish state embodies a 3,000-year-old mission to bring justice, conscience and moral purpose into history. That legacy threatens tyrants. It challenges regimes like Iran’s that rule by terror, subjugate their own people and dream of global domination through nuclear blackmail.

Since the Hamas-led massacre in southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023—an atrocity funded, inspired and coordinated by Iran—it has been a painful time for us in Israel.

While the Biden administration initially expressed strategic support, the global moral landscape quickly began to shift beneath our feet. On elite American campuses, in media halls and among too many intellectual elites, we saw confusion, silence and even outright support for those who glorify barbarity. Israel became the target not just of rockets, but of rhetoric, slander and a shocking erasure of history.

It felt like the world forgot who we are and what we stand for.

But with the decisive American response targeting Iran’s genocidal nuclear ambitions, we feel something deeper than solidarity. We feel a partnership we haven’t felt in years. The kind of partnership built not on sympathy, but on shared purpose and values.

We are not just defending our borders; we are defending the values that allow civilization to flourish. The president has reminded the world that when America leads with moral clarity, the free world regains its spine.

This is not new for Trump. It is a continuation of a worldview he has held from the start. When he recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, critics predicted chaos. Instead, we saw courage. When he moved the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, the powers that be said it would spark violence. Instead, it became a beacon of hope.

When he brought Muslim and Jewish nations together, people said peace was impossible. But the historic accords proved otherwise.

Regimes like Iran seek to erase these ideals because they expose the emptiness of tyranny. They cannot tolerate the light of moral purpose because it reveals their own darkness. Trump’s willingness to confront that threat, not just with words but with action, is a service not only to Israel but to every nation that wants to live in freedom.

At this critical juncture, we are reminded that true leadership is not measured by popularity or press conferences. It is measured by courage, conviction, and a willingness to make hard choices for the sake of a better future. Trump has embodied that kind of leadership.

So, Mr. President, thank you. Thank you for seeing clearly when others looked away. Thank you for standing up when others sat down. Thank you for affirming that the Jewish people, the Israeli state and universal values we fight for still matter.

In joining with Israel, not only to defend life but to affirm its sacredness, you have helped restore our faith that we are not alone.
