The Republican Jewish Coalition wants to see a third Jewish Republican in the U.S. House of Representatives.
On Tuesday, Norm Coleman and Matt Brooks, national chairman and CEO of the RJC, respectively, laid out the group’s choice to succeed the retiring Rep. Kay Granger in Texas’s 12th congressional district, saying, “We are proud to endorse Craig Goldman, a 5th generation Texan and a proud Jewish Republican who is known as a conservative problem solver.”
Goldman will face off against Democratic nominee Trey Hunt in November.
The RJC noted that Craig, 55, had served in the Texas State House since 2013, where he “has been a leading voice for a secure border, lower taxes and religious freedom.”
Coleman and Brooks called Goldman “a vocal defender of Israel and a fighter of antisemitism in the state legislature. His colleagues chose him to serve as chair of the Texas House Republican Caucus.”
The RJC expressed enthusiasm for “working with Craig Goldman in the next Congress, where he will be the third Jewish Republican member of the House, along with Reps. David Kustoff (R-Tenn.) and Max Miller (R-Ohio).”
