The meeting between UAE Minister for Food and Water Security Mariam al-Muhairi marked the first official visit of a senior government official from the Gulf state to an Israeli academic institution since the signing of the Abraham Accords.

A senior U.S. source said that the White House is interested in promoting the Abraham Accords, but that the fund has been frozen indefinitely.
Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid also inaugurated the Jewish state’s consulate in Dubai.
“The United States will continue to work with Israel and the UAE as we strengthen all aspects of our partnerships and work to create a more peaceful, secure, and prosperous future for all the peoples of the Middle East,” said U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Lapid thanked the UAE’s leaders for their “vision and inspiration” as well as Israel’s former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, “the architect of the Abraham Accords,” former U.S. President Donald Trump and current U.S. President Joe Biden.

It is only possible when you have successful technological countries, like the UAE and Israel, in the region come together,” said United Arab Emirates Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Called “AJC Abu Dhabi: The Sidney Lerner Center for Arab-Jewish Understanding,” it will be led by former ambassador Marc Sievers.
“Thanks to the [Abraham Accords], we—an Israeli company—are able to cooperate with our Middle East neighbors to solve one of the region’s difficult problems: water scarcity,” said Dr. Michael Mirilashvili, president and CEO of Watergen.
