Israel’s largest hospital, Sheba Medical Center, last week celebrated the official opening of a tailored Innovation Center at the Institut de Cancérologie de l’Ouest (ICO) in Nantes, France.
The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the strategic collaboration between ARC, Sheba’s health transformation and innovation arm, and the ICO.
“This collaboration demonstrates the power of shared expertise and sets a global standard for innovation that will benefit patients, not only in France but around the globe,” said Professor Eyal Zimlichman, chief innovation and transformation officer of Sheba Medical Center and founder and director of ARC Innovation.
Established in 2019, ARC equips health systems worldwide with tools to enhance healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes.
“Together, we aim to develop a robust framework for integrating precision medicine and innovative technologies into health-care systems,” Zimlichman said.
The new ARC Innovation Center will serve as a catalyst to foster breakthrough solutions in oncology and beyond, including through knowledge-sharing sessions between ARC and ICO leadership.
“We must ensure that we remain ever more responsive and efficient in providing quality and safe care. Our ambitions in research and innovation are significant and reflect the DNA of ICO through the care-research continuum,” said Professor Mario Campone, director general of ICO.
“We must continue modernizing our approach to health data and strengthen our tools and systems,” he added.
ICO is a nonprofit cancer center that provides its patients and partners with the services of a public hospital with specific expertise in the field of oncology. Each year, ICO’s 1,400 professionals welcome more than 48,000 patients in two establishments in Pays de la Loire, one in Angers and the other in Nantes-Saint-Herblain.
