Senior defense officials warned the Israeli Cabinet that “everything” must be done to prevent another war front from opening up in Judea and Samaria.
The Shin Bet claims it ordered the arrest without charges of filmmaker Avraham Shapira due to his involvement in violence in Samaria.
Gen. Erik Kurilla held situational assessments with IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant briefed his U.S. counterpart on the IDF operation to retrieve the bodies of six hostages who were brutally murdered by Hamas.
“Hamas murdered our hostages in cold blood precisely to make us surrender and accept its demands,” Bezalel Smotrich said.
However, he cautioned that Iran could still cause a regional escalation.
The Israeli defense minister discussed with his U.S. counterpart Lloyd Austin “ongoing joint efforts to deter Iran and its proxies.”
“It is settled law that the court has jurisdiction in this situation,” claimed Karim Khan.
They focused on “maintaining readiness and interoperability of Israeli and U.S. forces and capabilities in the face of ongoing threats posed by Iran and Hezbollah.”
“It is critical to remember the goals of the war and to achieve them—regarding Hamas, regarding the hostages, and we also understand why we are looking toward the north,” says Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
“We deal with both removing threats and preparing all the possibilities to be able to attack wherever we decide,” Israel’s defense minister said.
The Pentagon chief reiterated to his Israeli counterpart Washington’s pledge “to take every possible step to defend Israel.”
